Back to School

After reading the article I looked back at several points of interest.  First, that students are blogging just to blog not because they have to.  The itunesU program and pod casting references.  I always have to remember the capitalism that is tied to all of these programs.  On the testimonials I felt that some are not sincere although unintentional.  For example, one student said that at first they did not like to blog, and then changed his/her mind, that contradicts reality in my opinion. I agree with the being part of the learning process through a wiki will reinforce their learning.
The author foresees an education system called school 2.0.  School 2.0 is here already, just not in the full effect as the author suggests.  My son has a more paperless school system, with curriculum, grades and calender events posted on the school website.  The second-life blows me away with a total virtual world, as digital immigrants we sometimes immediately take a negative viewpoint of such things.  I myself found myself weighing the pros and cons.  My fear is the nonphysical interactions may one day lead to some unnatural communication.  What that exactly is I may never know, then again only positive results may prevail.  Through the week I will have to reflect more, especially on the second-life.
